Lucknow | The GM Box Cricket Association (GMBCA) on Thursday announced the launch of Mega Tennis Ball Box Cricket Trials in Uttar Pradesh during a press conference held at the Press Club, Uttar Pradesh. Through these trials, the association aims to select 13,000 talented boys and girls for Season 1.
Speaking on the occasion, GMBCA Founder Baba Inder Preet Singh said the initiative is a recognised and formally organised grassroots-level tennis ball box cricket platform, launched with the objective of creating a positive social impact. He said the programme seeks to steer youth away from issues such as substance abuse and the growing trend of migrating abroad, while offering them a structured pathway towards a professional sports career and sustainable income opportunities.

The trials will be open to boys and girls aged between 15 and 45 years and will be conducted across all districts of Uttar Pradesh at multiple venues starting January 2026. The registration fee for the trials has been fixed at ₹900.
Baba Inder Preet Singh further stated that selected players could earn a monthly income ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 through tennis ball box cricket. Additionally, players may have the potential to earn ₹40–60 lakh annually through match fees, league participation, and endorsement opportunities.
GMBCA has also invited cricket tournament organisers, cricket academies, and coaches to join the initiative as district coordinators across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, strengthening the grassroots structure of the sport.
During the press conference, Uttar Pradesh State Coordinator Rakesh Rastogi and Delhi State Coordinator Sukhvinder Singh Sokhi shared their experiences, highlighting the overwhelming enthusiasm and participation witnessed among youth in their respective states. Members of the coordination committee, including Mukesh Chauhan, Gurpreet Kaur, Neha, and Rahul, were also present.

The association informed that similar trials will also be organised in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Maharashtra. The detailed trial schedule will be released soon on the official website www.gmbca.org.
GMBCA outlined two professional platforms for selected players. Platform One will be the Gali Mohalla Cricket League (GMCL) – Season 1 (2025–26), where selected batsmen, bowlers, wicketkeepers, and all-rounders will get an opportunity to participate. State-level teams will be formed by GMBCA’s expert committee to compete in district, state, national, and international leagues. The national winner team will receive a prize of ₹11 lakh, while the runner-up team will be awarded ₹5 lakh.
Platform Two will focus on creating a category-wise players’ pool after the trials, followed by professional training camps. Selected players’ profiles will be shared with national and international tennis ball box cricket tournament organisers, franchise owners, and cricket boards.
Through this platform, players will be able to participate in competitions across India and abroad, earning income through match fees, endorsements, and professional contracts, thereby building a long-term and sustainable career in tennis ball box cricket.
